Choir
St. Raphael's School provides student an opportunity to sing in choir during Friday's school masses. Rehearsals are Thursday after school. Students also sing during various Sunday Masses throughout the year.
Band
St. Raphael's School is proud to provide the opportunity for students interested in playing an instrument to participate in the St. Raphael's band. The Band Program is offered to all students in fourth through eighth grade. Students receive an instrumental group rehearsal each Tuesday during the school day and a full band rehearsal after school as well. The Band performs several times during the school year including a Fall Musical, the Christmas Concert, a March Band Festival, and the Spring Concert. Strike Up the Band is sponsored by Schmitt Music.
Bell Choir
The Children's Bell Choir is offered for children in third through eighth grade. Prior musical experience is not required, however is helpful for the younger bell ringers. This unique choir performs twice a year during Christmas and Easter. The choir practices the four weeks prior to Christmas and four weeks prior to Palm Sunday. Piano
From September 15 through May 15, piano lessons are available to students in second through eighth grade. Lessons are 30 minutes long either during the school day or after school in the church. Lesson times during the school day are arranged with your child's teacher. The students prepare for a recital each spring. From September 15 through May 15, voice lessons are available to students in sixth through the eighth grade.I n this course the basics of vocal production, auditioning, presentation, sight-reading and performance are taught. Lessons are 30 minutes long during the school day or after school in the church. Lesson times during the school day are arranged with your child's teacher.
