Well, this is the last blog of Kindergarten 07-08. Your children sure have come a long way this year! They have learned their numbers and how to count, their letters and sounds and even learned to read!! I am so proud of all their hard work and you should be proud of all the hard work you did at home as well!! This was a short week and we had a field trip. They really seemed to have a lot of fun at the zoo. Thank you to all the parents and families who were able to come and enjoy the beautiful day with us. We couldn’t have asked for better weather. This week we continued to talk about faith in God. We played bingo to practice the numbers 11-30, and we practiced working with 3-D shapes. We had our last two Letter People come to visit - Mr. Q and Mr. X.
*REMINDERS We will be having a short “graduation” program on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in our room. I hope you can all come and enjoy the successes of your child in Kindergarten! There will be lunch served that day, and the day will be ending at 12:00. You are welcome to take your child home after the program or after lunch. They can also go home their regular way if that is easier for you and your family. Remember, no ED’s next week. Monday is our track & field day. The children may be out of uniform. Shorts and t-shirts are OK, but NO tank tops. Please send sun screen that can be easily applied. The continuous spray kind works GREAT. Also, the last day of school is a non uniform day.

In reading this week we learned about Ms. K and her kaboom kick and Ms. Y and her yodeling yawn. We only have two Letter People left! How exciting!! In religion we learned about faith - believing in God even though we cannot see or touch him. We heard two stories about faith: Jesus Calms the Storm and Noah and the Ark. Ask your child to tell you how these stories show faith in God. In math we did some more practice with tangrams, we used a number line to find greater than and less than. Tomorrow we will play bingo to practice identifying the numbers 11-30. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend with friends and family!!
**REMINDERS Shorts cannot be worn to church on Fridays, but they can bring shorts and change into them after mass. Permission slips for next Wednesday’s field trip need to be in by tomorrow (5-23). Our track and field day is Monday June 2nd. It will start at 12:00 and go until the end of the day. Mr. J. Still needs some more parent help. Please call the school or send a note if you can help out. On the last day of school we will have a “graduation” ceremony. It will be at 11:00 followed by lunch and then the children are done for the day, and for the year. Hope you can all make it!

What a beautiful week we had! The weather has been great! I hope you and your family were able to get out and enjoy it! This week we continued with Ms. J and her jingle jingle jacket and then Mr. C visited. He has a colossal cap and is very shy, but he is trying to not be shy, sometimes. In math we worked with a new math tool called tangrams. They are lots of fun to make designs with. In religion we learned that Jesus had 12 special friends called apostles to help him teach others about God the Father. And, that we are disciples who continue to teach others about God.
**REMINDERS Mr. J still needs parent help for our track and field day on June 2nd. It would be from 10:30 until the end of the day. If you can help please call and let him know. Also, all library books are due next Thursday May 22nd. If you still have books out please send them back no later than that date. And, lastly, please send in your child’s field trip permission slip and money by next Friday. If you would like to ride the bus down with us, let me know on the slip. There is limited space and is on a first come, first serve basis. If we run out of room you are welcome to drive down and meet us there.
