Thanks for the great perspective on Global Contribution, a term I have not heard before. Andrew is a really good example of how a good person in a remote little corner of the universe can have a big impact. I decided to try speedskating 2 years at an advanced age and had nothing but Zen and the Art of Speedskating as an off ice learning tool. While reading the experienced insight on "How" to do it was great, gaining some of his insight about "Why" it was worth trying has been priceless.

Hi Lisa,
Yeehah, congrats on your novel! The NaNoWriMo badge caught my eye because we, too, participated in this writing fest. In our case, rather than being written by one person, 3 faculty and about 25 students (some wrote twice) signed up for a chapter a night. All Roads Lead to Guatemala is being printed for each of the authors plus a copy or two for the library. I was one of the 3 teachers and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of having to write in the same vein as the story begun by the students. Sure got my brain in another place ;-)
Cheers, Laurie

[...] henleg wrote an interesting post today onHere’s a quick excerpt I got a great email yesterday telling me to check out my hometown’s newspaper. They were going to be having a five-part series about Technology in the Classroom. Today, I will reflect on yesterday’s article: Inside the High-Tech Classroom. The article talked about Oak-Land Junior High- the first school in Minnesota to ever try 1 laptop per child [...]

I loved your comment "I do not know how to not be busy yet I rebel when I am given a schedule." This is true.

We will need to continue this conversation as it will help us challenge ourselves. We need to be challenged to continue striving to improve what we do for our students.
