Spelling: Lesson 12 Review All students do pages 48, 49, 50,and 51.

Math: M - L52 T - Supplemental L53 W - L53 Th - L54 F - L55

Reading: November reading log is due today. A new one for December will be sent out.

AR: Continue to work on 2nd quarter point goals.

Science: Meal logs will be sent home each day this week. Students should record what they ate for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Social Studies: Continue to study NE states and capitals. We’ll start state research soon.

Spirit Wear: If you want to order Spirit Wear for Christmas gifts, return your form and payment by Dec. 3.

Spelling: Lesson 11 Standard group does p. 44-46. Challenge group does p. 47 (not part I) and three challenge activities. Challenge words are: cords, blindfold, bride, throat, scarecrow, committed, fourth, height, generally, intelligent. Work is due Wednesday and the test is Thursday.

Math: M - L47 T - L48 W - L49 Th - L50 F - Test, worksheet

Accelerated Reader: Continue to work on second quarter point goals.

Social Studies: Study the location and capital of the NE States. The test will be on December 18.

Science: Sign up to send in a fruit or vegetable for the class. (More info coming)

Religion: The chapter 6 test will be an in-school test on Thursday, Nov. 20.

Spanish:A Spanish test will be given to the fourth graders on Nov. 18, on Lesson 6 , the parts of the body. The test will include some sentences using words from the previous lessons. The students that review with a parent and bring a signed slip indicating that you helped your child review , will receive 5 bonus points on the test. (If you have never reviewed any of the lessons with your child, it would be good to check to see if they know the words from the previous lessons. If not, work with them , a few words at a time. The students who have reviewed with a parent in the preceding tests, always do much better. Eighty percent of their quarter grade is based on their tests and 20 percent on their class attention, participation and cooperation.)

Spelling: Lesson 10 Standard group does p. 40-42 Challenge group does p. 43 (including part I) and three challenge activities. Challenge words are chores, compared, coward, enclosed, frowned, privilege, mathematics, threshold, argument, changeable. Work is due Wednesday. Test is Thursday.

Math: M - L44 T - L45 W - Test, worksheet Th - L46 F - L47 Please study basic math facts at home. There are lots of online fact activities posted on my delicious site.

Religion: We’ll be finishing chapter 6 this week. I’ll post a study guide and the in-school test will be next Thursday, November 13.

AR: Accelerated Reader goals have been set for the second quarter. If you have not returned them do so asap. I will update the students weekly on how they are doing with their goals.

Field Trip - Wednesday, Nov. 12 Send a cold lunch. Uniforms are worn.

Religion: The at-home chapter 5 test is due on Wednesday.

Reading: The October reading record was due today, Nov. 3. November records will be sent home.

Report Cards: Will be sent home on Thursday.

Spelling: Lesson 8 Standard group does p. 32-34.  Challenge group does p.35 plus the challenge activities. Challenge words are dial, seventy, high school, shelves, widow, library, judgement, separate, cemetery, exceed Work due on Wednesday. Test on Thursday.

Math: M-L 38 T-L39 W-L40 Th-Test, worksheet for homework

Religion: The chapter 5 test will be a take-home test. It will be sent home later this week. It is due next Thursday, Nov. 6

Spanish: Fourth grade Spanish test on Tues, Oct 28. There will be sentences using the words in Lesson 5. Students are expected to know the words in Lesson 1-4 also. In case your child received a low mark on previous test, it would be good to review again. A 5 point bonus if you write a note indicating that you reviewed Lesson 5 with your child.

Book Sale: Used book sale this Wednesday. Books are 25 cents on Wednesday, 10 cents on Thursday.

End of the Quarter: The end of the first quarter is this Thursday, October 30. Reports card will be sent home next week.

Party: We’ll have a short holiday party on Thursday. Let me know if you’d like to send a treat. An email will be coming with more info.

No School: No school this Friday, October 31. Happy Halloween!

Picture Day: Wed, Oct 15. Out of uniform day.

Break: No school on Thursday or Friday. MEA break.

Rakeathon: Tshirts can be worn on Monday with uniform pants.

Conferences: Monday, Oct 13 and Tuesday, Oct 14. Schedule was sent home on Friday. Email or call if questions.

Spelling: Lesson 6 Review All students do pages 24, 25, 26, and 27. The workbook is due on Wednesday. The review test will be on Thursday.

Math: M - L28 T - L29 W - L30 Th - Test, worksheet for homework F - Investigation 3, worksheet for homework

Spanish: Spanish test on lesson 4 and 5 on Tuesday. Students who bring a signed paper indicating that a parent reviewed with them will get extra points on their test.

Religion: The chapter 3 test is a take-home test. Students may use their books and have parent assistance. Essay questions must be answered in complete sentences. The test is due on Wednesday, Oct. 8

Social Studies: Continue to study the SE states and capitals. See separate post for study material. The test will be Wednesday, October 22.

Rake-a-thon: Shirts may be worn on Mondays in October and the first Monday in November.

Green and White Day: Thursday, October 9.

Mass: Our first fourth grade mass is on Friday, October 10. Please join us if you’re able.

Reading: Record at-home reading minutes on the October reading record.

Fund Raiser:  CiCi’s Pizza on Tuesday, October 7 from 11am - 9pm.  15% comes back to the school.  4845 Nathan Lane in Plymouth.

Spelling: Lesson 5 Standard group does p. 20, 21, and 22. Challenge group does p. 23. Part I should be done on paper. They also have to do three challenge activities. Challenge words are: until, vacuum, whether, accident, category, flames, gently, hollow, modern and watched.

Reading: The at-home September reading record is due this Wednesday, Oct. 1  The new one for October will be sent home.  Reminder - this is only to record minutes read at home.

Religion: Wednesday is the Chapter 2 test at school. Please study. The concepts that need to be reviewed are in a separate post.

Spirit Day: Tuesday, September 30 is Spirit Day. Students may dress in green and white.

Social Studies:  Begin to study the location and capitals of the Southeast states.  Two study guides were made in school. One is for school.  One is for home.  The test will be in a few weeks.  I’ll give you an exact date soon.
