Only five school days left until Christmas vacation. But who’s counting? I still have lots of shopping and wrapping to do. Also have to plan my menu and shop for food. No Christmas tree up yet. Hopefully, that will happen today. I hope your preparations are going well.
Here’s this week’s school news:
Spelling: None
Math: M - L 53 T - L54 W - L55 Th - Test and worksheet for homework F - activity, no homework
Religion: take-home test on chapter 9 is due on Thursday, 12/20
Social Studies: study states and capitals
Reading: read daily at home and record it. Work on Nativity Scenes. As a wrap up for our novel The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, the students are making a nativity scene. There are some ideas posted on my delicious site if any one needs it. Otherwise, I’m encouraging everyone to use their creativity. Any material is permitted - paper, wood, fabric, clay and felt - are some things we brainstormed that might work well. These should be brought from home. As soon as the vocabulary sheets and quizzes have been finished, students may use reading time to work on their project. They may also have to do some things at home to get it finished by Friday.
Green and White: Thursday is our Spirit Day. Students may dress in green and white.
Red and Green: For $1 students may dress in red and green on Friday. All proceeds go to charity.
Band Concert: The Christmas Band Concert is tomorrow (Dec 18) at 1 pm.
Pageant: The school Christmas Pageant is on Friday (Dec 21) at 10 am.
Christmas Party: We will have a class Christmas party on Friday afternoon. We’ll have cookies and juice and some fun activities. An email will come out about this today.
May the blessings of Christmas and the coming of the child Jesus fill your lives with grace and peace.
