Second Week

September 10th, 2007

Welcome to week 2 of fourth grade. We’re getting into the routine of things pretty well now. Here’s the summary of homework for the week. If anything changes, I’ll post it on this blog. So check it often for homework and news.

Challenge Spelling (for those with 0 or 1 wrong on pretest) - Lesson 2 p. 11 and Challenge worksheet. There are writing components on both the workbook page and challenge sheet. Challenge words are: slope, tomorrow, actor, fought, watermelon, foreign, gauge, harass, ignorance, jewelry Homework due Wed. Test Thurs.

Math - one lesson a day. M - 5, T - 6, W - 7, Th - 8, F - 9

Religion - a take home test will be sent home tomorrow. It is due on or before 9-18.

Science - begin to study the parts of an animal and plant cell.

Reading - at home reading is required. The requirement is 20 min 5 days a week. Each month a Reading Record will be sent home. All at-home reading should be recorded on the form, added up at the end of each month, and returned to school. Since Sept. is half over, I’m cutting the reading requirement in half for this month.

Green and White Day - Thursday is green and white day. Students should wear mostly green and white clothing. Jeans are acceptable.

Curriculum Night - tomorrow is curriculum night. The fourth grade presentation if from 6:25-6:45 pm in our room. See you then!!
