Spelling: Lesson 32 p.  Because of Track and Field and because it’s so close to the end of the year, all students will do the standard assignment.   Homework is due Thursday (because of Track and Field on Wed.). Test is on Friday.
Math: M - SL112 and regular lesson 112 evens only, T - L 113 W - SL114 Th - L115 F - L116

Social Studies: Students have been researching a Western or Southwestern state for a week or so. It’s called the ABC’s of ……… (name of state) . These are due Tuesday, May 20.

Memorial Day: Next Monday, May 26. No school.

Spring Concert: Tuesday, May 20.

Track and Field: Wednesday, May 21.

Spelling: Lesson 31  Standard group does p. 124-126  Challenge group does p. 127 (all) and the challenge activities.  Challenge words are:  juice, canteen, abandon, salmon, visiting, intelligent, material, mathematics, neither, occasion

Math:  M - L108  T - L109  W - Supplemental L110  Th - L110  F - Test, worksheet for homework

Religion:  The chapter 15 take-home test is due this Tuesday, May 13.

Social Studies:  The states and capitals test is on Thursday, May 15.  See separate post for study materials.

Field Trip:  Our field trip to see Bodyology is tomorrow - Tuesday.  Students will be in uniform.  We will eat at school, but after the main lunch period is over.  So students should bring a bag lunch from home, or order one from school in the morning.  Those from school will be available after we return.

Grades:  Continue to check on grades.  We have about 2 1/2 weeks before grades will be cut off for the final quarter.  There are quite a few missing assignments overall.  I am also having students check their own grades each week, so they know what is missing as well.  Late assignments should be turned in ASAP.

Spelling: Lesson 30 Review All students do pages 120-123. Homework due Wednesday. Test is on Thursday.

Math: M - Test, worksheet for homework T - L106 W - Supplemental L107 Th - L107

Religion: Take home test chapter 15. Send home on Tuesday, May 6. Due Tuesday, May 13.

Social Studies: Study the Southwest and West states and capitals. Test is on May 15.

Reading: Continue to record at home reading minutes for May. We’re down to the last month! We will be doing a mystery unit at the end of the school year. Each student needs to find a mystery book in their reading range to read the last couple weeks of school. I have some to choose from and we will use the school library. But if students want to find their own at home or at the public library that would be okay too.

AR: Continue to read to earn your AR points for the 4th quarter. I update students every week or two to keep them on track.

Field Trip:  Our last field trip will be next Tuesday, May 13.  Permission slips have been sent home.  Please return them signed with the $9 fee.

Thursday: Green and White Day

Friday: No school for students.

Spelling: Lesson 28. Standard group does p. 112 - 113. Challenge group does p. 114 and the challenge activities. Challenge words are: cardboard, thrilling, distance, erase, therefore, decorate, definition, electricity, emergency, encourage.

Health: Students are to plan a weekly menu. We brainstormed some suggestions. Parents are allowed to help. Plans are due on May 1, but can be turned in earlier.

States and Capitals: The West and Southwest states and capitals should be studied. The test will be middle of May. I’ll let you know the exact date soon.

Religion: The chapter 14 test will be in school next Wednesday, April 30. See separate post for study guide.

May Crowning: It will be on Friday, May 2. Please send flowers for Mary.

Mass: The fourth graders have planned and will participate in this Friday’s mass.

Fruits and Veggies: Thanks to everyone who has sent fruits or vegetables in for our morning snack. We take a little time to look up the nutritional value of what we taste. The students are enjoying it. We will continue doing this as long as interest continues. Let me know if you’d like to send something in.

Midwest State Project
